Suited to playing styles where you want the bass to match the mid-range and trebles, so that the intricate melodies and moving bass lines blend together seamlessly.
Developed in 1978 by Chris Ffinch, the 808 shape is unique due to the 00 shaped silhouette combined with a full body depth and a 25.5” scale as opposed to most other small-bodied guitars which traditionally have a scale length of 24.9 inches.
Compared front on to an 808, the Traditional is wider at the lower bout. This produces an extremely versatile acoustic guitar tone that falls somewhere between the big sound of the dreadnought and the brighter focussed sound of the 808.
