EM6

The new Mini-Maton EM6 is a fresh look at the very successful EML6.

Everything that was great about the EML6 is to be found on the EM. Solid Qld Maple back and sides have replaced the old laminated Qld Maple. This brings a fuller, richer tone which will improve even further over time as the wood learns to vibrate to its full potential.

Add to this the new Double X Bracing now found across the entire Mini range as well as Maton’s “Original” AP5 pickup system and you have a real winning combination.

EMBW6

Simplicity and purity of tone lay at the heart of the Blackwood range of Guitars.

The all Blackwood construction produces a unique compression, blending frequencies into a new, unique voice. The New Blackwood Mini Maton is available now and can also be ordered as a left-handed guitar. Please contact your local Maton Dealer for further details.

Redwood Mini RM6

Though it is a lot smaller than a standard dreadnought, this guitar packs a punch well above its weight.

This model features a Solid Redwood top, Tasmanian Myrtle back and sides, with the AP5 PRO pickup system, chrome Grover machine heads, and Natural satin finish.

With the introduction of the Redwood Series, Maton has found a new voice in the world of acoustic guitars.
There is something magical in the tone produced by the combination of the Redwood (Sequoia Sempervirens) soundboard and Tasmanian Myrtle (Nothofagus Cunninghamii) back and sides. The Redwood is plantation grown and sustainably harvested from the Otway Ranges in Victoria, the Myrtle from our longstanding supplier in Tasmania, who also provides us with the timber to build the Joe Robinson Signature model.
Tonally, Redwood can be compared to Western Red Cedar, but there is a stronger treble presence and dynamic response than typically found in Cedar. Tasmanian Myrtle (or Tassie Myrtle as we Aussies call it) has a smooth, Maple like tone, and when combined with Redwood seems to add a little extra warmth and sustain to the overall tone of the instrument.
The result is intriguing. The tone coming from these guitars is complex. All the frequencies we expect are present, but there is something more going on as well. The blend of overtones and the dynamic response to slight variations in playing technique, offer new possibilities to the player. This is a guitar that is hard to put down.

“What started as a travel guitar has become a staple for me on stage. No other acoustic has the focus and projection of my Mini Maton, and having less bulk is liberating too!”
