River’s Gift is a non-profit organisation specific to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), and founded by Karl Waddell and Alex Hamilton in honour of their son River.

River lost his life to SIDS at 4 months of age in November 2011. The major focus areas of River's Gift are funding genetic SIDS research and delivering infant safe sleep education.

At Maton, we believe it’s important to support causes that matter to our community. That’s why we’re proud to stand behind River’s Gift, the official charity of the Gympie Ute Muster, which funds research and awareness for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). SIDS is a devastating and little-understood tragedy that affects families without warning, and River’s Gift is leading the fight to find answers and ultimately a cure. By supporting their mission. We are able to be a small part of the fund raising effort, and show solidarity with the families impacted. Partnering with River’s Gift is part our commitment to supporting communities in Australia and to make a meaningful difference beyond music.

Thanks to the incredible work of Karl and Alex, the Gympie Ute Muster, the artists that supported the project, and Craig and Jules Campbell who had the winning bid on the guitar at $17k.

Thank you to Troy Cassar-Daley, Travis Collins, The Wolfe Brothers, Dan Davidson, Casey Barnes, The Road Hammers Hayley Jensen, Dylan Wright, Sara Storer, Jake Whittaker, Robbie Mortimer, Mitchell Steele, Jayne Denham, Brooke Schubert, Linc Phelps, Andy Penkow, Josh Setterfield, Andrew Swift and many more.
