ER90 Traditional

The ER90 Traditional brings together three Maton designs: the bracing and design elements of the 75th Traditional, the Indian Rosewood back and sides and satin finish of the ER90C, and the thinner body depth of the CS Classic.

The result is a small-bodied guitar with a full tonal response that rings like a bell.

There is no lack of bass despite the reduced depth — the body is 10mm thinner than the 75th Anniversary — because it is offset by the rich low end of the rosewood back and sides. The shallower body also puts more focus in front of the guitar, which makes it a brilliant recording instrument. The top bracing is fully scalloped and includes the laser-cut bridge plate originally developed for the 75th Anniversary model, designed to add strength without adding weight.

Visually it borrows from its older brother the ER90C: multi-banded inner binding, white outer binding, a mahogany neck, and streaky ebony fingerboard, bridge and headstock veneer. The mahogany neck provides tone and stability, while the ebony adds a little top-end brightness to complement the rich bass of the rosewood back and sides.

A guitar that suits every style of playing, from light fingerstyle to full-blown strumming — and fitted with Maton’s AP5 PRO pickup system, it is formidable on stage.
