Simon Hosford


SIMON HOSFORD is an Australian born guitarist, producer and writer.

Simon started playing Classical Guitar at age 5, and as a teenager studied arranging, played in a Jazz Big Band and played Double Bass in an Orchestra. At 19 he was a member of Virgil Donati’s rock/fusion band “On The Virg”, as well as studying Jazz, Latin Percussion, and Orchestration, and touring as a clinician for Roland throughout Asia.

 

He’s since toured with artists including Tommy Emmanuel, Men At Work, Vanessa Amorosi, Taxiride, Jon Stevens, Richard Clapton, Shannon Noll, Birtles/Shorrock/Goble, and recorded for artists including Bachelor Girl, Peter Andre, Guy Sebastian, Ross Wilson, Christine Anu, Men At Work, Frequent People, Jon Stevens and Anna-Maria LaSpina.

 

As a songwriter, Simon was signed to Warner/Chappell publishing in 2000, and spent time writing and producing in his studio, and travelling through the UK, US and Europe co-writing with various writers. Writing and Production credits (both Australian and International) include Shannon Noll, Katie Underwood, Saya, LMNT, Tali, Rob Mills, The Little River Band, and Jon Stevens  to name a few.

 

Simon is now busy with his own pop/rock band ‘Sharaya’ who have just released their debut album ‘The Road to…’, and working on a more progressive instrumental rock album with his band ‘Salerno/Hosford/Bekker’.
