Maton Guitars

Adam first picked up a guitar at the age of 12 as a requirement of school and hasn’t looked back since, 22 years on and still enjoying it just as much now as ever.

In his late teens Adam would write songs for various bands he performed in on the weekends as a relief from the daily grind of being a mechanic, a blue collar flavour was established early,  also the confused carnival ride that is leaning about love and lust. Listening back to some earlier songs of Adam it’s easy to track where he was in his life,  as he has always written from a true place.

In his early 20s, Adam formed a band called Bluezone which enjoyed some minor success in the Australian Blues scene, performing at many of Australias biggest blues festivals including Byron Bay Blues Fest. Adam wrote or co-wrote all the songs off their debut album “The Sweetest and Most Perfect Things”, 2 of Adams songs won awards at the 2007 Australian Blues Music awards, his song  “You’re The One” won him the award for Male vocalist of the year and his “Song “Trouble Man” won the band the award for song of the year.

After Bluezone broke up Adam spent some time rolling solo and working as a session guitar player for various acts. Through this time he reached the top 24 in the 2009 season of Australian Idol and also toured America for 6 months as a guitar player for the award wining country group The McClymonts.

It was shortly after his return from America in late 2011 that Adam was offered a record contract with Universal Music Australia and he set about putting together the Adam Eckersley Band, which is becoming a well-respected band in the country scene, Adam wrote or co-wrote all the songs from their first album titled “The First Album”

The First Album won some impressive gains for Adam and the band, hitting the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Country Album Chart and peaking at No. 5 on the ARIA Country Chart, while single “Give Her The World” cracked the CMC Video Chart Top 10 before going on to take out first prize in the country section of the 2014 International Song Writing Competition and also Country Song of the year in the 2015 APRA Awards . AEB also snared the Golden Guitar for Best New Talent at the 2015 CMAA Awards in Tamworth, before jetting off to Nashville to perform as part of the Global Artist Showcase at country music’s peak industry meet, CMA Fest 2015. Veterans of two Tamworth Festivals, CMC Rocks, and the Gympie Muster, Adam Eckersley Band have undeniable festival cred to back up their impressive rap sheet.

AEB Released "The Second Album" on August 28 and in the first week went to number 7 on the ARIA country charts and number 5 on the iTunes Country chart. The first single from "The Second Album", "Wheels" climbed to number 1 on the CMC music video chart and hit number 1 on the Kix Hottest Country chart and number 3 on the Official Australian Airplay Country Top 20 chart. "Wheels" received commercial airplay on Triple M radio, Adam Eckersley band were a featured artist on Triple M's Oztober program in October and also featured on Triple M's Home Grown program

Feeling most at home on the road, Adam will not be slowing down anytime soon, AEB are following the mould cast from bands of old who toured relentlessly for the pure love of sharing songs with people.
