Australian guitar icon Tommy Emmanuel will return to his home country for five capital city theatre shows this August, promoters Rob Potts and Jeff Lewis confirmed today, taking in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

The Grammy-nominee, known to his legions of die-hard fans and the general public alike as arguably the world’s greatest acoustic guitar player, will perform in the mode audiences love best – solo. His incredible charisma, stunning speed and dexterity and unerring command of melody will all be on display. Tommy performs the entire show solo, with an interval. This is Tommy Emmanuel at his remarkable best - one man, one guitar - one unforgettable experience!
“After years of touring Tommy in Australia, the fans have made it known what they want - as much Tommy as possible. Tommy Emmanuel solo can often seem like a full rock’n’roll band” said promoter Rob Potts.

I can’t wait to get back home and play for old friends and new fans,” said Tommy.
 
 
Tickets are sure to sell fast as Aussie fans race to secure their chance to see one of the world’s most in demand musicians on an increasingly rare trip to his home country. These August dates will be Tommy’s first shows in Australian capital cities since 2012, and his trips down under are set to become less and less frequent as Tommy’s already massive international fan-base continues to grow.
 
In a career that has spanned over five decades, Tommy Emmanuel has become one of the most respected and acclaimed musicians on the planet. One of a select few designated “Certified Guitar Player” (CGP) by iconic guitarist Chet Atkins, Tommy has received an incredible variety of accolades, including two Grammy Award nominations, two Golden Guitar awards and being twice voted Best Acoustic Guitarist by US Guitar Player Magazine. In 2010, he added AM to his name after CGP, when he was appointed a Member of Order of Australia for services to music.
